Welcome

I'm Katris Konstantinos

I'm 20 years old, studying Computer Science at the University of Western Macedonia (UoWM) at Kastoria, Greece. I have worked on various projects, both in programming and in the general field of computer science. I am mainly interested in the field of web development and I dedicate my personal time to developing my skills and learning new technologies. I am proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and have recently begun using React.

Mobile Development

I previously worked on Mobile Development using React-Native. I have since learned the basics of React Native, and I am looking forward to investing more time in the future.

Languages I use

  • React-Native

Frontend Development

My primary focus is Frontend Development, and I've been working to improve my knowledge since I entered university. I have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React.

Languages I use

  • HTML & CSS
  • JavaScript
  • React

Backend Development

I have previously undertaken Server-Side Development projects using Node.js. I've handled tasks like database connections, password spooking, and cloud-related services.

Languages I use

  • Node.js
  • JSON

Tools I use

  • VSCode
  • Github & GitHub Desktop
  • Expo/Expo GO
  • Postman
  • MongoDB Atlas/Compass

Projects

LocalEye

A look in Kozani's Treasures

LocalEye is a mobile app built with React-Native, for a competition about making the city of Kozani, Greece, "smarter" for both its citizens and its tourists. It uses MongoDB for its Database, Cloud Services like Google Cloud and Cloudinary and node.js for its Backend functions. You can see more about the app or even download it from its GitHub Repository.

Portfolio Website

Getting to know me through my work

My portfolio website, built with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. The primary objectives of the project are to demonstrate some of my work, gain insights into my programming career, and make it easier for you to reach out to me.

Omnifood Website

A concept website for a food startup company

When I started working in web development, the Omnifood website was my first big project. It's a website for a start-up company that offers food subscriptions, built with HTML CSS and JavaScript. The company is completely fictional and anything related to real life is purely coincidental.

Timeline

2023

2023 is the year I started to get more deeply involved in programming. I worked with Anastasia Magopoulou on a project where we developed a mobile application for the 4th programming competition "Kozani 2030: On the road to climate neutrality". The app was developed using React-Native, which gave me not only a first look at mobile development, but also a general knowledge of React, which is the goal of my year. At the beginning of the academic year I had the honour to become the President of the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia, Kastoria. During the year, together with the other members of the Student Branch Board, we organised several workshops and seminars, including a seminar on LaTeX, which was held in cooperation with the School of Science of the University. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to participate in the 16th IEEEXtreme Programming Contest, which helped me to improve my knowledge of JavaScript, which was my preferred language. It also helped me develop better algorithmic thinking.

2022

In 2022, being in the second year of my studies, I had a better contact with both programming and the more general technologies surrounding the field of Computer Science. I continued to develop my knowledge of C, while at the same time attending some courses from "Huawei ICT Academy" through Huawei's cooperation with the University of Western Macedonia, where I study. In November 2022, I was honoured to be appointed Vice President of the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia, Kastoria. Within the Student Branch, I had the opportunity to work on projects that helped me develop both my soft and hard skills. I was responsible for workshops, conferences and seminars organised by the Student Branch itself, or co-organised with the support of the University.

2021

In 2021, with my admission to university, my career in programming started. My first proper contact with coding was with C as part of my University courses. In December 2021, I became a member of the IEEE Student Branch University of Western Macedonia, Kastoria, through which I discovered new technologies and saw different perspectives on topics taught at the university.

Past

In the earlier years of my life, I had very little contact with programming, as I didn't have the right tools and knowledge to get started properly. In my spare time, I learned the basics of Python, and I also saw some very basic parts of HTML in some of my high school classes.

Let's work!

Have something in mind? I'd be glad to help! Let's get in touch and talk more details over some coffee. Drinks on me!
